The book of Proverbs has a very practical, rubber-meets-the-road approach to money. Here are some verses to help us manage money wisely!
Money isn’t everything ... God is!
Proverbs 22:2 – “Rich and poor have this in common: the LORD is the Maker of them all.”
Put the Lord first ... always
Proverbs 3:9-10 – “Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.”
Keep your priorities straight ... wisdom is better than wealth
Proverbs 3:13-14 – “Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.”
Work hard ... don’t be tempted by “get rich quick” schemes
Proverbs 28:19 – “Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies will have their fill of poverty.”
Don’t be miserly ... give freely
Proverbs 3:27-28 – “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.”
Be content ... with whatever God chooses to give you
Proverbs 30:8 – “Give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread.”
